Although my fitness journey began with sports as a young athlete, the path that I’m currently on was heavily influenced by my introduction to bodybuilding. I loved being able to witness tangible transformations in my physique as a result of dedicated effort. As soon as I stepped off the stage from my first competition, I knew I wanted to compete more. Since 2015 I have participated in nine local contests within the bikini and figure divisions.

However, my fitness journey took a bit of a turn when I became pregnant with my daughter, Tallulah. Navigating exercise during pregnancy posed numerous challenges, exacerbated by the scarcity of reliable, evidence-based information on prenatal training and postpartum recovery at the time. Drawing on my bodybuilder mentality, I continued pushing through workouts without fully grasping the signals my body was sending. The aftermath of my postpartum recovery left me feeling frustrated, dealing with issues like a weakened core, persistent back pain, urinary leakage, and a sensation of pelvic discomfort.

It was during my second pregnancy, with my son Kaber, that I discovered the invaluable support of pelvic health physical therapists. Collaborating with these professionals throughout both pregnancies and postpartum periods ignited my passion for prenatal and postpartum fitness. This newfound passion prompted me to embark on a career dedicated to helping women navigate the challenges of training while embracing the changes in their bodies during and after pregnancy.

Armed with certifications and years of experience, I began teaching prenatal and postpartum fitness classes at the very same physical therapy office where I received pelvic floor therapy. Working alongside physical therapists, especially those specializing in pelvic health, has proven to be an incredibly fulfilling journey. This collaboration continues to fuel my dedication to assisting women during this unique phase of their lives. My own experience of scaling back and focusing on rebuilding my fitness foundation as part of postpartum recovery has provided me with a profound perspective on achieving balance between pursuing fitness goals and embracing active recovery.

As a coach with DFYF, my objective is to share the knowledge I've acquired through personal experiences and extensive studies. I aim to empower women, guiding them with confidence as they engage in fitness throughout every season of life. While my passion for bodybuilding remains strong, understanding the physiological changes the body undergoes during the perinatal period has significantly enriched my approach to training.

I am a 37-year-old mother of two with a passion for all things health, fitness, and nutrition.
When I was young, I used nature as my way of staying active through hiking, camping, bike riding, swimming, you name it. I was 14 when I purchased my first gym membership and fell in love with lifting. With the help of a personal trainer, I was able to transform my body both physically and mentally through weight training, cardio, and a balanced diet.
In college, I chose to pursue my other passion for design, majoring in Architecture and Interior Design, all the while continuing to expand my passion for overall wellness by enrolling in fitness and nutrition elective classes. This allowed me to develop a unique skill set that would serve me well in my current career. I was able to learn the technical side of design, while also gaining a better understanding of how physical activity and nutrition could be used to better manage my stress and create a healthy balance between work and leisure.
Fast forward to when my second child was born, I was ready for a career shift to pursue my fitness passion. I obtained my Certified Personal Trainer Certification through NASM, as well as my Nutrition Coaching Certification through Precision Nutrition.
My goal is to provide a comprehensive approach to physical fitness that considers the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of health. I particularly enjoy helping moms learn about nutrition and fitness to maintain their health while juggling motherhood. My approach is to provide personalized guidance and support that takes into account your current life stage to ensure that you can stick to the plan and make effective progress toward your goals.
I am a passionate advocate for health and fitness and believe in its power to improve lives.
